Hello Everyone!!

I have taken over a renovation project.

The roof consists of metal sheet, felt, and tongue-and-groove wood.

Between the rafters, there is board, but he hasn’t overlapped them, instead placing them edge to edge!!

The first thing I thought was that I must wedge between a piece of board so any potential condensation runs along the board and not down onto the insulation after the first board sheet.

But then someone came by and said I didn’t need to do that since I have a fully tongue-and-groove roof.

That the function of the board was for there to be circulation between the insulation and the tongue-and-groove roof!!

So what is correct??
