Hello, knowledgeable folks!
We've bought a barn built in 1929, where at some point during the 1960s/1970s, they decided to lay 7 cm of reinforced concrete on the second floor. On top of the existing wooden floor, that is. Fun, right? Naturally, it's too heavy for the structure, which is evident on the floor below.
Part of the building (an extension that doesn't have concrete) has been converted into an apartment. We're considering different solutions, where one (and perhaps the most likely) is to try to remove the concrete. But how?
Jackhammer? Asphalt saw? Manually break it up? How do you do this safely and without risking the entire building collapsing in the process?
The concrete itself is starting to crumble, so it seems relatively easy to work with.
Extremely grateful for any ideas!
