Cleaning Mexitegel

Our house had wrought iron grilles on all the windows, and it resulted in black streaks on the brickwork.
Does anyone have tips on a good product to use to remove it? I also want to freshen up the grout a bit. They are quite "sooty."
High pressure and scrubbing brush don't work. It only gets slightly better in the grout.
Can you use a pressure washer? Mine is quite weak.

Mexitegel is almost impossible to get clean. You can make it cleaner but never as clean as it once was. I have a stove built with white mexitegel with white joints, and to remove old soot from it, I had to bring home a powerful steam cleaner and go over it. It got better, but the dinginess is not gone, and even then, it was a steam cleaner in the 40,000 kronor class that I used, so there was nothing wrong with the equipment. It was tough too; the slightest bit of sloppiness resulted in streaks.

Okay, I'll have to experiment with various products and scrub with a brush. Does anyone else have any tips?

I have the same problem ...but inside the garage :x so the pressure washer can't be tested.
A bit desperate, I tried taking some paint cleaner on a cloth and rubbed until the cloth broke on a stone, sure it got better but the cloth-account will be expensive if I were to continue.

So I'm also interested if anyone has good tips!!

Not exactly free... I've hired that service at work.
Dry ice cleaning is incredibly effective on many things and the results are very good. The downside is that it creates some dust... and naturally, the price.

There should be someone with a good DIY trick?
