I have a 3.5 mm PVC-coated steel wire, which I plan to use to make a simple trellis for a grapevine. The idea is to set some kind of hook in the ground (tent peg/dog stake) and thread the wire through it, attaching the two ends of the wire to two hooks in the patio roof's framework.
So far, I don't have any loops on the wire, but I imagine it could look like a bike lock cable. But what are the clamps called, and how do you attach them?
And if you wanted to branch the wire (e.g., to make a "climbing step" to tie the vine onto), what clamp would you use?

Talurit lock is the neatest solution I think,A Allinug said:I have a 3.5 mm PVC-coated steel wire that I am planning to use to make a simple climbing support for a vine.
