Hello!
I'm leaning towards using the ridge beam with rafters for my garden shed. The shed is 270x506cm and will have a metal roof. I live in Västmanland, so there isn't a lot of snow. Can I manage with a glulam beam of dimension 66x315mm, or do I need to go up to 90x315mm? Does anyone have any input here?

Swedish wood has a twist for this!

Ok, that's great! Note that it's based on European building codes with Swedish adaptations, so if it's OK according to that, you can be assured it's good enough.J JF. said:
Perhaps the roofing requires higher standards (on deflection), but it should be stated in their assembly instructions what is needed.
Yes, 66x315 should be fine 👍🏻Den ofrivillige klåparen said:Ok, that's good! Note that it is based on European building codes with Swedish adaptations, so if it's OK according to that, you can be confident that it's good enough.Especially for a simple building like a friggebod often is.

It feels like metal sheeting shouldn't be so sensitive to deflection.
