I've got a new plastic roof for the sunroom. The long sides of the roof should run along the rafters. The problem is that the current C-C measurement between the rafters is too large. The reason the panels should lie along the rafters is because sealed clamping strips need to be placed between each panel to secure them, and for it to be watertight, they need to be attached to something solid, i.e., the rafters.
As you can see in the picture, the current construction has the sunroom's rafters connected to the house’s rafters. The current plastic roof rests on joists crossing the rafters.
I need ideas for an ingenious way to change the C-C measurement to about 102 cm instead of today's approximately 130 cm (or whatever it was...). Bring it on!
