I need some advice and tips regarding replacing and lowering the ceiling and replacing an interior wall. Let's start with the ceiling.

Ceiling
The ceiling in the current room consists of Huntonit tiles (1991). What I want to do is lower the ceiling to:
  • Install halogen spotlights
  • Hide cabling
  • Get a smooth gypsum ceiling
My first thought is to tear down the existing ceiling and then install new gypsum boards. Is this a complicated process?
Regarding the gypsum boards, I've looked at two different models; Norgips Plan and Gyproc Planum Ergo. Are there any opinions on either of these?

Interior Wall
The interior wall is currently gypsum (double-layered) on steel studs. The adjacent room is a bathroom. On this wall, I intend to install horizontal paneling. I also want to run cabling in the wall. I assume it's a fairly complicated process to tear down the existing gypsum boards. Here I really need advice!

Grateful for any help!

I can tell you a little about what I've done. I framed the existing ceiling with 45x45 cc60. Then I ran the necessary electrical wiring in the ceiling, insulated it, and added new panels. You might need to lower the ceiling more if you're going to have recessed spotlights. I'm not sure about the depth a spotlight needs for fire safety. There are boxes available for installation. As for the walls, I drilled new outlet holes and routed/cut channels for new cable conduits. Then I used VP-flex conduits and added a new panel on top of that.

Use 12v spotlights in the ceiling or why not LED? They give off very little heat and require very little installation depth. I just installed 12v spotlights in the ceiling and they required 22mm free behind, measured from the part that rests against the underside of the ceiling, so a 28x70 beam and ceiling on top of that is more than enough.

What kind of spotlights do you have? Are they 20W furniture spotlights or LED? If you have 35W halogen spotlights, which are most common for general lighting, you normally need 10-12 cm free space to combustible materials. If you don't want to lower the ceiling too much, then install a downlight box partially in the existing ceiling. They are available in both round and square shapes. Cut a hole that fits the box, push it up as far as you need. However, keep in mind if you have a vapor barrier towards the outer roof that you don't make a hole.
