ceiling molding; planed or finger-jointed?
It's starting to be time to install crown molding in the rooms currently undergoing renovation. I want to imitate the original molding with the stretched-fabric ceiling, i.e., 15x60mm lying in a functional style, like a border.
I'm starting to consider which material is most suitable; the moldings will be caulked and painted, and I would prefer if they don't warp in a few years or so. I have found planed pine in dimensions of 15x56, which is very close to the original measurements, but I'm starting to wonder if planed is right, or if I should try to find finger-jointed instead? Or even go with MDF?
MDF feels more cumbersome, heavier, needs pre-drilling, etc.
EDIT: The thread probably ended up in the wrong place; a friendly moderator can move it to the correct spot
