Hello.
I've just cast small concrete footings for a little project. A shed for the lawn mower, think doghouse. I wanted to secure it fairly well for two reasons, so small footings it was.
Anyway, I had some pieces of ground pipe in plastic, meaning drain pipes with barbs on the outside. Perfect I thought, as they will just hold better. I've already backfilled the soil around them (almost all the way up) and after reading, I found that the most common practice is to remove the form and then backfill. My plan is to leave the plastic pipes. According to my searches, it shouldn't make a big difference, I'm mostly curious about general casting technique since I have very little experience with casting.

Maybe it dries/cures worse or something now? Or will it work?
