Hello!
I need to make a rim and a lid for a laundry chute. It will be quite similar to a toilet seat, but without hinges and with a liftable lid instead.
The easiest for me would be to make it in wood, but since we've skipped the other details in oak in the bathroom, I don't want the lid for the laundry chute to be in oak either.
I'm considering if I can cast it in fiberglass mesh and then lacquer it. Or if I could make it in oak and then lacquer it or get it lacquered. Maybe someone who lacquers kitchen cabinets?
What do you paint plastic details with, like parts for boats or home-built cars, to give them a really glossy finish? The idea is that it could look a bit like the toilet lid, which is a classic toilet lid in thick white plastic.
Or maybe it's easier to find a company that can do everything together based on a drawing or mold? Any tips here?
Best regards,
Andreas
