Hello, I am planning to cast a retaining wall (instead of installing curb stones) over a total distance of 60m in various places in the garden. I am just wondering a bit about how to best construct the mold, how deep it should be, and if there is anything else I should consider...

Grateful for answers......

If anyone knows where I should turn to get the best price on the approximately 3 cubic meters of concrete that will be needed, it would be a bonus...

More information is needed to be able to provide good advice, but in general concrete is stronger than you think, so it requires sturdy forms to hold if you want any height on them.

Okay, it should be 10cm wide and at the highest point, it is 30 cm above the ground level

I am attaching a sketch of how it will extend...

  • Diagram showing a structure with two vertical segments, each 6m wide, connecting to a circular section, with lengths marked at 15m, 5m, 17m, and 19m.
The round pieces will be exciting but as for the form, I would take formplyfa and place a 45X70 at the top and one at the bottom along the form. Then you drive down posts 45X70 into the ground behind the form. You also need some braces to hold in the top of the form.

Thanks for the tips, it's quite good if, it turns out well on the first try, I mean, otherwise there's a lot to do....

Question: will I need to reinforce it and how deep into the ground should I cast it?

reinforce one should always....

I am not a guru but a happy amateur so I would place a 10mm iron at the bottom and one at the top and in between cut strips of armeringsnät.

How deep it should be to become stable I have no idea.
