Casting a foundation for washing machine
I am about to start renovating the laundry room. I would like to raise the washing machine and dryer about 50 cm from the ground, so I am considering casting a plinth. But how?
This will require quite a bit of casting...
- What can be used as filler? Lecablock?
- What do I need for reinforcement?
Thanks in advance!

Poured a footing but only 30 cm, used Styrofoam as filler material, if it works in a house slab it should work here too, I thought. I also want to highlight the advantage of Styrofoam for the day you want to change and remove the footing. It's quite challenging to chisel away reinforced solid concrete, easier with a large Styrofoam cube inside.
Thank you for your answers.
Maybe I should build space for detergent etc. underneath. I have too much laundry to fit a laundry basket
Havsutsikt: Styrofoam seems to be a brilliant idea. How thick was the concrete on the top side? How did you reinforce it?
mats-o: Does lightweight concrete hold when the washing machine goes haywire?
Best regards

Not exactly an answer to your question, but there are elevation baskets available at most places to buy and place under the washing machine. Under the machine, you then get a basket like "elfaback"...
