Carrying a security door in stairs, how?
I googled and saw craftsmen carrying heavy doors up stairs using a more advanced dolly, where the dolly was also modified to secure the door. It seems overkill in my case to get one for a single door - a one-time job at my place. Local craftsmen were using large suction cups on a door, like the kind used to lift glass panes (when loading it into the van, but also likely for moving it up stairs to its destination).
Securing a heavy door on a standard dolly seems like a questionable method, but perhaps, maybe in combination with suction cups. The downside of a standard dolly is that they are quite short compared to the door, which means the dolly's handle is low, and much of the door's weight is high.
Lifting an 85kg door with just suction cups, up stairs, feels risky to me, even if you wear steel-toed boots. What if it falls and tumbles down the stairs - a hefty crash, I promise, and potential damage to the walls. Can you trust those suction cups? Unfortunately, the door can't be carried up in a horizontal position due to the need to turn in the staircase.
I spoke with a front door installer I saw in the neighboring building - he carried the door up the stairs on his back; how this is possible and safe, I don't know. Any tips on the method?

Two handyman guys who are used to carrying various stuff in stairs, so it goes with them.
It will likely be vacuum lifters, those smaller handles. 4 in total and two guys. Calling a moving company would defeat the whole purpose of doing the job yourself/cheaper. Additionally, it will be difficult to sync timing when a door arrives with a truck delivery.
When we replaced doors in our BRF, the workers carried the door panels on their backs. Looked very easy, but they had definitely done it a few times before. Yes, not a good idea to drop such a door, especially not on a staircase.Dracula said:

Buddy?
My grill weighs just over 80 kg. My daughter (13 years old) and I managed to lift it up the stairs on the side of the house. She said she didn't lift, and it was easy for me.
A friend and I used a regular hand truck to move a fridge/freezer weighing 90+ kg up the stairs. It was heavy, but we did it.

I don't really see the problem either. A regular dolly from Biltema can handle 250 kg according to the specifications.
If it's wobbly, attach a board both to the bottom and back of the dolly so the door has something to rest on. Wrap a tension strap around the door.
It's more difficult if the door is packaged, but you could almost lift 80 kg by hand. Make sure to prepare places to rest in advance, then take it one step at a time.
