First, find out exactly what the requirements are. Previously, construction calculations were mandatory, but that was quite a while ago. However, many municipalities have raised the standards for the appearance of the drawings, meaning that they need to be professionally designed. This usually means that you have to hire an architect. If so, the architect can probably help you with most of it. If the municipality requires construction calculations to be attached to a building permit application, you will have to pay someone to do these, even if they just copy the Byggahus posts. Unfortunately, I no longer have good contacts in Stockholm, but half of Sweden's architect community works there, so it shouldn't be impossible.

A little feedback. The construction is finally underway. It resulted in a 55-centimeter overhang.
Building under construction with wooden beams and columns in a forested area, showing progress with a 55 cm overhang.

It looks very promising! The round columns add elegance to the construction.

Looks nice! It would be fun to see a picture of how it looks finished with the house. Any specific lessons learned?

We ended up covering the pillars with trellis, creating an airy "basement space" under the roof. Sooner or later, you need a "junk space" where you can store a wheelbarrow, bicycles, a sawing area, firewood pile, etc., and for that purpose, we now have a much-appreciated space. The joists still extend out relatively from the trellis wall, and the overhang contributes to the connection with the ground feeling a bit lighter.

That sounds good and practical! While aesthetically benefiting from the protruding floor joist.
Thanks for the response :)

Fun with building on stilts! I am currently investigating the possibility and cost of building something similar. Would you be able/willing to share details about the timber and dimensions you used, challenges you faced, and possibly how/where you got help with calculations?
