Can styrofoam mold?
I have come across a piece of styrofoam that has lots of black/gray spots on it. Should I be worried?

No. They make foam plastic with graphite which is a bit better. Residuals from that production are usually mixed into the regular production.

There's nothing wrong with that, they looked like that when they were manufactured.

If the conditions are right, mold can grow on Styrofoam. It's not the Styrofoam itself that molds, but something on its surface. However, I don't think it looks like mold in the picture. Whether mold is a cause for concern depends on where it grows.

BSOD has already given you the correct answer. Completely normal and nothing to worry about.

Thank you for your answers! 😊
