Can lecablock freeze and break?

Hello!
Can leca blocks freeze and crack if they are left outside unprotected in the rain and snow this winter? Should I cover them with a tarp?

I have had a stack of Leca unprotected since the fall of '00 without the blocks taking any visible damage, Ytong is probably worse.

As long as they are not underwater, they probably won't freeze and crack.

I built up half of the basement walls last summer and I didn't cover them during the winter, and nothing has happened.

As Haagbard wrote, it's worse with Ytong because it takes longer for the water to dry out/evaporate.

But a tarp doesn't hurt
