We are going to build a house with Termomur as the ground floor and Masonitebeams block as the upper floor, with a shed roof with about a 10-degree pitch. I have received a design proposal from MB where a problem arises with the LT beam for supporting the roof beams. The span for the beam is 10.8, but as we have the option for an LT column from the ground floor as the design shows, the span becomes 5.4. When calculating for LT, they say no (dimensioned with 165*630 beam and snow zone 4.5). Own weights, etc., are visible on the drawing. Planned roof is metal. I have no knowledge of calculating these things and would appreciate if someone has a good idea! Open to suggestions, steel beams, etc. The other direction is self-drawn, showing the placement of columns.
The drawings actually have too low a resolution to be read satisfactorily. If the smaller plan (approximately 10x10 m) is the upper floor and the ambition is to manage the roof structure with a primary glulam beam, then 165x630 is too little for a span of about 10 meters (should be 165x765) and unnecessarily much if there is a pillar in the middle (165x405 is enough).
