We are working on a kitchen and got the idea to remove a wall between the dining room and kitchen, as well as part of the wall towards the hallway. We have about a 3.70 m long section that will be replaced by a laminated beam, so now we wonder how to calculate the height of the beam we need. The roof has a slope of 27 degrees and there are 4 roof trusses involved, with the length between the outer walls being around 7-8 meters. We have the frame of the wall remaining while waiting on how to proceed. Does anyone know how we should do this, or is it just a matter of contacting a building architect or the like?
