Hello, I am planning to install a garage door measuring 3000x2200mm in a load-bearing outer wall. A door was previously in the wall before the garage was converted into a living area... the previous door was 2500 mm wide, and now I want to install a wider one.
The question is whether I need to increase the size of the current HE-B beam 120x120 or if it will suffice with a longer one?
There are 3 roof trusses resting on the beam today. Snow zone 2.5, concrete tiles, the garage is a total of 4x8m with truss roof.
