I have a glulam beam supporting the lowest part of the roof for a carport today. It has three supports along the way.

I would like to replace it with either an alternative stronger glulam beam or more likely an H beam. This is because I want to remove the middle support as this post is in the way of the car door!

Can someone help me calculate what I should use instead? Today, there is a glulam beam with the dimensions: 5937x225x90

Thank you! 🙏

A constructor is needed for this, you need to know the loads the beam will carry, the snow zone, and how it looks with the roof trusses...

Is this enough?

Drawing of a wooden roof truss structure with a transparent overlay, labeled “Fjärås Träförädling,” and construction details. Technical drawing of a construction beam design, labeled with measurements and specifications for stability and load capacities.
