Depends on the room's dimensions, length & width
How much needs to be trimmed off on the first/last row.
How close the seams come to each other, row by row.
How close a seam is allowed to be to the wall.

Unfortunately, I don't know how much should be cut off, but the room's dimensions are:

width: 2.87m
Length: 4.3m

There's quite little waste with click flooring. I recently took a chance and bought 11 packs with 3.18 m² per pack, totaling 34.98 m², when the space was 33.8 m². The space is not square but extends over several rooms, which increases the waste. In the end, I had to buy an additional pack because a piece was missing. If the space is square, I think you'll manage with 5 packs. If you want to be sure it’s enough, then buy 6 packs.

5 packs are enough with a board's margin. If you have about 30 cm overlap.

Oh no, that's not good, you have to use your math skills for things like this and add +2 sqm floorboards to be sure.

But good to hear that mine is enough!

30cm sounds quite a lot. Good that I bought 6 packages.

Here you can see how much I was missing in the end. But I am not more than a mile from Byggmax. So it wasn't a big risk to take. There were special circumstances with the shape of the space that increased the waste a bit.

30 cm is good. If you go smaller, you'll use less flooring.

Ahh that was a shame, but good that Byggmax isn't far, hope it worked out!

So if I have a 15cm overlap, more flooring is needed?

What do you mean? A theoretically absolutely optimal room is rectangular and X.50 planks long and Y.00 planks wide, right? That would give you maximum/optimal overlap with 0.5 plank and no waste at all, except for whole leftover boards in the last package if it doesn't happen to be exact. Or am I thinking incorrectly?

Less, I wrote.

This room is unfortunately 3.11 x plank length on the long side, so there is some waste. The theoretical need is 36.6 planks, I managed to get it done with 39.

Didn't see if there was any laying instruction on the Byggmax link. But my 30 cm is usually recommended.
