byggahemma.se, what experience do you have?
For the first and last time, I shopped from byggahemma.se (part of XL retailers).
What experiences do you have with this company?
Here's my story:
I needed a duct fan with max 50 W connection. 100 (PAX)
It was important for me that it didn't have a larger effect than 50 W as it needed to fit in with other equipment (humidity control).
I understood from other suppliers that the PAX 42 W had existed but they could no longer deliver it (discontinued?).
I found the fan on byggahemma.se...
To be sure, I called customer service on 29/10 (at 10.06) to confirm the correct wattage and that the fan was in stock.
Yes indeed, was the answer, we have it in stock and delivery time is 1-2 days.
On 6/11, it was ordered and paid via bank. At order/checkout, the information showed that delivery time was 5 days.
On 11/11, the package arrived from Elektroskandia!!! So byggahemma.se didn't have it in their stock!!!
I immediately saw they delivered a fan with 72 W = unusable for me. Made a claim and received a return label.
I noted that byggahemma immediately changed the wattage on their website to 72 W but as of today, the incorrect (old) product sheet still links to the new fan. How serious is that?
On 15/11 (at 8.37) the return was picked up by Schenker.
The fan was not credited to my account, so I called customer service on 22/11 (at 10.10) and asked where the money went. – Would be investigated, money will come in a few days…
28/11 still no money, called customer service. Yes, we have received a message from the supplier and we are sending money.
29/11 Money came today.
My impression/rating:
Yes, money refunded but incorrect information from customer service and the website inspires no confidence. I will not be a returning customer.

Bygghemma.se does not have its own warehouse; their "warehouse" is the supplier's/importer's/manufacturer's warehouse. It is clearly stated on their website, at the bottom of the following page www.bygghemma.se/kopvillkor/leveransstår regarding delivery time.
That they don't keep their own stock is probably good for us consumers so we don't have to pay for this.
However, that they have incorrect information on their website and are slow with refunds is not OK, here they can't blame anyone else. If, for example, they don't get info from their supplier that the return has arrived, they need to have a routine to contact the supplier themselves to check it.

I can chime in with a story about Bygghemma with a good outcome instead. Last spring, I ordered a sliding door frame and a sliding door from Bygghemma. Upon delivery, DHL had managed to put a dent in the middle of the door. Since my renovation had been delayed, I had the door at home for over a month before I discovered the damage. Despite having the door at home for so long, there was no problem claiming the door. I was first offered 500:- as compensation if I could paint it myself, but when I requested 1500:- because I wanted it lacquered by a professional and not mess around with a brush myself, it was no problem. It maybe took a week in total from reporting the damage to having the money in my account.
I will definitely shop at Bygghemma again.

Shopped there for the first time a couple of weeks ago, a new lid for the toilet. Good price, free shipping and delivered to the door, delivery time was a few days.
Will definitely shop there again, but I understand if roland53 will not shop there again (I would probably have reasoned the same if I had been in the same situation).

If you consider them to be cheaper, I want to tell you that when byggahemma.se failed with their delivery (the fan), I found another supplier (maybe not exactly the same brand - but the same performance) for 549:- cheaper. A price difference of over 60%.....Nimajneb said:
I looked at a BMW yesterday but today I found a Fiat that has exactly the same performance. It can also take me from A to B.roland53 said:
Not really okay, right?
It has worked well for me too, both Bygghemma.se and Nesto (their furniture counterpart). Convenient with delivery to the door so you don't have to stand and queue at ICA. Additionally, in my opinion, you have reasonable prices both on the items and the shipping... However, you should be a bit cautious, some items have a significant markup while others are really well-priced.
I have shopped at bygghemma a couple of times and I only have positive experiences from these purchases. Great prices and relatively fast delivery. However, I haven't returned anything since everything has been in good condition. Except for a kitchen knob, but 79kr didn't feel worth the effort to contact customer service.
I almost have only good things to say about bygghemma.se, I've bought loads from them. But the different warehouses mess up the deliveries, in my opinion, sometimes there are as many separate deliveries as there are items. And it's usually Schenker, which doesn't have evening delivery. I'm calling for an extra service where they gather the items into one package and send it with, for example, Posten, which is more flexible with deliveries (at least where we are).
I bought benders mursten from there this summer. Basically the same price for the stone as the local stone company. But the shipping was 4500 instead of 1500 from bygghemma.... Received delivery with the same truck (benders' own crane trucks) that the stone company had used.
