Hello!
My partner and I are very interested in a house built in 1968 that we just had an inspection on. In the basement room/cellar, there is a microbial smell at the baseboards in some areas. The walls are made of Leca stone and are not framed. The floor is parquet and seems completely fine. The house was recently drained this summer when salt deposits were noticed in the pantry. Is it likely that the moisture has sought out the baseboards where it can rise, hence the microbial smell there? Or is there a high risk that the parquet is starting to mold?
What should be done? Should I contact Anticimex for a moisture measurement under the floor?

Now, I'm not a moisture expert, but if it's an uninsulated slab on grade, you should probably do thorough measurements of the moisture. A little too much moisture can cause a lot of trouble later on!
