Does anyone have any tips on how to integrate this into a hallway in a both simple and stylish way?
In the nice drawing, the first image is from above, and the second is towards the wall where the floor heating gadget is (LK M60).
The not-so-straight line is the manifold and CP.
We have torn out the old panel down to the insulation, re-plasticized, and put 11mm plywood around with a 15mm wainscoting up to about 120cm except in this corner, above which will be wallpapered.
How the heck should one solve it around the manifold? An openable hatch must exist, but it's okay if it's a bit tricky to open. There has even been talk of a cabinet all the way to the ceiling, but the depth is limited to about 15cm. The latest idea is to build out between the doors with plywood to 120cm and install wainscoting with a shelf on top, but then a hatch would have to be made in this, preferably with invisible hinges, which feels like it’s getting difficult for me to do neatly, but I can always try. I suppose that's how it'll end up, but if anyone has any tips, they are welcome.
Before we tore it down, there was an incredibly ugly homemade box on the panel, so I suspect the previous owner didn't quite succeed either.
