Hi
I have bought a 299*19*19 beam that will be above the garage door. It will be at 210 on the underside. Is it enough with one layer of Lecablock on top for strength, or do I need to make two? The extension has four roof trusses, two of which will rest on the beam. Regular gable roof with a span of 6.60 meters at an angle of about 20 degrees. Kronoberg County

What do you think?

Ps. Will be doing the final layers this weekend, really want to know :-) Ds

Do you not understand the question?
Strength for what? The beam carries over the opening?

Or is it a composite beam being built with leca?

Buying your question, had the same thought myself. I think the beam should be able to take the load from the truss directly, but the argument was that more layers on top provide a more distributed load than a point load and would therefore be better. The beam is a properly reinforced 299cm single-piece beam. Do you mean that it can take point load directly, in that case, everything is fine.

Grateful for an answer.
