Building a workbench in the basement

I am planning to build a workbench in my basement and my question is what I should do to ensure the wooden table does not come into direct contact with damp surfaces (basement floor). Should I use metal studs to attach the table to the floor or should I simply have a Platon mat between the floor and the wood? What is most suitable?

If you are going to stand and work at your desk for a long time, then Platon + a suitable overfloor is ideal. It makes it easy to clean and comfortable to stand on as well.
