The house we moved into has an adjoining storage room on the ground floor with a side door where for some reason no steps have been made.
It's an estimated 30 cm high, so we avoid using that route. It's somewhat cumbersome to have to walk around the storage room from the main entrance, though.
The previous owner left a bunch of bricks, which I've tried to stack as a temporary step, but it doesn't feel completely stable.
The idea was to instead build the bricks into a more durable step.
It's currently on a repainted concrete floor. I'm thinking of first consulting if it's a suitable procedure or if I should instead build something in wood or hire someone to cast a step (expensive..)?
Build away, assuming you're going to have the staircase indoors. If the staircase is just on the other side of the door, it might be clever to have a small landing at the top where you can stand still. Calculate the appropriate depth/height of the steps according to the "stair formula" that can be found in several places here on the forum.

A small platform or other flat surface at the top of the stairs
I think I understand.
Another thought was what to use underneath between the floor surface (concrete) and the brick. Should you apply mortar directly on the floor surface, for example?
Should work if it's clean and degreased so the mortar can adhere
I made a quick prototype to see how it could look (and the stones were enough).
Made a ledge up at the height of the door frame. However, since it's wood, I'm considering how to attach or place the stones. You don't usually attach mortar to wood, if you know what I mean...
One stone down is concrete.
I've seen pictures, for example, of how they leave an air gap against the house structure when building on the outside.
Isn't it better to place the stone on its edge so the stairs are easier to clean?
How many stones do you have in total? Are they 62*120*250 mm?
How wide do you want the stairs to be?
How high is it from the threshold down to the concrete?
Will be taking the train for a few hours tomorrow. Can bring paper and pen to calculate/sketch a bit.
Counted stones in your photo. Guessing about 38 cm in height. This would then make the stairs three stones high. With 40 cm between each stair nose, the stairs will be comfortable.
To achieve the height, you need to use relatively thin mortar.
On the width, you can apply the usual 13 mm.
In that case, I guess you'll need about 120 bricks. If you have more, make the top step of the stairs (and of course those below) a bit longer.
Wow, what a job you've done, it's really appreciated
I went down and measured a bit on the stairs and the height to the door. 33 cm up to the door frame (where the concrete ends) and 39 over the door frame.
Currently, the steps are 25 cm long and 12.5 cm high (6.5 at the lowest).
There are stones left so there's no shortage yet, but it might not be a good idea to make it too long as I have things that need to stand by the radiator there..
