Hello all you talented people!
I am about to build a carport with a storage room under the same roof, just waiting for the driveway to be asphalted. Along with the groundwork/asphalting, the company is setting the support posts for both the carport and the storage room. I have tried to read up on how I should think about the storage room; is it good to have the asphalt as the floor in the storage room, or should I build a floor? If I'm not going to have a floor, can I use a sill to build the walls from? Or is it better to have a support post for each wall stud?

- If you make sills and floors, they will also remain intact, meaning they won't move as the ground possibly can.
- If you want to insulate later at some point in the future, it is also easy if you have ready-made sills (but you need to consider this a bit already during the construction).
Asphalt directly as a floor has the advantage of being cheap and simple if you don't have any major requirements for the storage otherwise.
Our carport, with a storage room under the same roof, was built before we moved here, so I don't know what the thought process was when choosing the flooring. In any case, there are concrete floors in both the storage room and the carport. As far as I can tell, they are two separate slabs (you can see a seam when looking from the outside). I don't know what function it serves if they are (possibly) two slabs. I think the concrete works excellently.
Thanks for the response, Urk! Rainwater etc. will probably still come in, it's just that I don't see it.... I won't insulate the storage (as I think now...) it's just going to be a tool shed.

Yes, our storage has a threshold (I'd say semi-high to high
. It is not insulated, but it is built to be insulated (as far as I can assess). We have a self-propelled lawn mower that we lift and carry when it needs to be brought in for the winter, etc., but I don't think the threshold would be perceived as a problem when pulling over a "normal" mower.
