Hello everyone, I'm planning to build a garage/storage that will be against an existing retaining wall on two sides, about 600 mm high. How would you build it?
Here's what I'm thinking:
- Cast a concrete slab right against the retaining wall and place edge elements on the other sides. Or do I need to place edge elements against the retaining wall as well?
- Build up the exterior walls with lightweight clay blocks against the retaining wall, and above the retaining wall, construct with wooden studs and wood paneling.
What I'm not quite sure about is how to make it watertight between the retaining wall and the lightweight clay blocks. Normally, one would use plaster and drainage boards, but I don't know how to solve this against an existing retaining wall that I would prefer not to move. How would you do it? It needs to be watertight between the retaining wall and the building.
