I know there is a pool forum, but this is more focused on construction technology than pool maintenance.

I need to make it even and straight under the pool. Can you build a deck, or should you lay beams and fill with sand? How do I get it straight if so?

The pool is 3.60m and holds 8000L. Quite a bit of weight...

Place the pool on the ground and build the deck around it.

It should be smooth and then a pool cover over. This is a steel pool perhaps worth mentioning.

What kind of ground do you have?

We have placed our pool on regular concrete slabs. Since we have a plastic pool with a steel tube frame, we have placed styrofoam on the slabs and then a tarp on that before setting up the pool. It's more comfortable to jump and play in the pool when it's on something a bit soft. It holds about 21 cubic meters.

The polystyrene also prevents the cold from the ground from entering the pool. It insulates very well.

Ground = Moraine hill

Insulating a pool from below does little for the heat, though it can be nice for it to be soft. Evaporation occurs upwards, and that is where one should insulate; however, an interesting solution with tiles.

Hmm, how many do you think are needed for 4x4 meters? Regardless, it must be level and that is where I have trouble getting everything level...

I remember my hot tub, I stood out in the garden with the car parked idling to provide light, had driven a tractor bucket with mixed gravel/soil that I first leveled and measured to the right size for the tub, i.e. about a square meter.
Then step two, fill the wheelbarrow with soil and roll it back and forth to pack the material tighter..
Rake and measure with a level again!
Step three, stomp around on the heels with wooden clogs to pack the ground even more before raking it again..
The bottom line is that I haven't had to adjust my tub much after many years, however, I did lay a few (3-4) planks underneath before placing the tub there!
I can highly recommend wooden clogs size 43.. :)

Old thread but I'm in the exact same situation, except the base is gravel that has been there for several years and should be quite well packed. The same gravel bed that the holiday house stands on.

I've been considering pouring a slab but have realized how much concrete is actually needed...

How did you solve your problem, and did it turn out well, I wonder?
