I have a project started that we're having some trouble getting around to finishing.
I'm a novice when it comes to construction, but I want to learn and do as much as possible myself where it's feasible.
An attic space wall needs to be demolished; the wall is not load-bearing. The plan is to build a new wall that follows the roof's slope to gain more space in the room. I need tips on the workflow and criticism if my plan is flawed.
After demolition, I'm thinking the next step is to frame against the roof decking (do you attach the studs to the rafters?)
Then attach the weather barrier, insulation (probably hygroscopic wood fiber), vapor barrier, new studs to attach drywall to (?), drywall.
Is this the correct order? Is there anything in particular I/we should consider?
