Planning to build a wall about 2m and install a tunnel fireplace with visibility from 2 sides. Does anyone have a blueprint on how to build it to meet fire safety requirements, material selection, etc.? The fireplace is a Lucy 14. A building notification to the municipality also needs to be made, what documents did you submit? Grateful for input…
We are installing a tunnel stove now. But we are building a shell around it out of brick. We will have it visible, but otherwise, you can plaster ordinary lightweight brick or the like. Then it's just to continue building the walls on the sides if you want it closed.F FamOlsson said:Planning to build a wall about 2m and insert a tunnel stove with a view from 2 sides. Thanks for the info. Did you have to reinforce the floor joists before you bricked?Biggle said:
The previous stove stood on a concrete slab, which is cast on the house's concrete slab over the crawl space, underneath there is a column of lightweight concrete down to the bedrock (is crawl space).
We had to cast a little on the sides, but it was easily arranged.
