I am planning an extension where I have a basement window, the floor of the extension will be about 1 meter above ground level, so it will have the same floor height as the existing house (foundation + build up with lecasten then fill with gravel + insulation and slab on top of that) so the area where the basement window is will be filled with gravel.

What is the best way to handle the window?

Can you put a Minerit board on the outside of the plinth so it covers the window hole and just fill with gravel, or should the window be removed and walled up with something like lecablock?

The window will probably never be restored, so remove it and brick it up with Leca.

If you're in a time crunch, it's fine to do it that way. Place a plate there and then seal the hole from the inside. However, few things are as permanent as a temporary solution.

You can also use Leca and stone glue :)

There are painted surfaces around the window that need to be removed, so as you say, maybe good to use that kind of stone glue foam, do you mean?
