Board for plaster hearts

Hello,
my kids and I are making plaster hearts that we plan to attach to a type of board which we will then hang on the wall.
The hearts are quite small and we are thinking of hanging lots of hearts on the board.

I would like your help to get suggestions on what material the board should be that we can hang our hearts on. We are placing paperclips in the hearts which we then plan to hang on the nails in the board.

What do you think about a shelf/laminated wooden board mounted "the wrong way," so to speak? Easy to attach the nails and easy to, for example, sand and lacquer to get a nice background surface on.

Ohh thank you how smart. They are in piles at IKEA...
I was only thinking about Byggmax and similar stores.
