Best way to glue baseboard?

Just renovated kitchen and hallway. Now it's time to install the baseboard.

I've cut all the pieces and tested that they fit well. Planning to glue since my partner is greatly bothered by nail heads/marks from a nail gun, etc. Even when we've painted over them, she doesn't think it looks good.

But walls are rarely perfectly straight.
When gluing, what is the best method/technique to press the molding against the wall where needed?
Where there are only small gaps, I thought of using caulk, but in some places, the molding needs to be pressed during the drying time.

Is there a smart solution?

I use both PL400 and hot glue.

The hot glue means you only need to press for about 20 seconds. Once it has set, it keeps the strip in place until the construction adhesive has dried.

Yes, that might be a smart idea. With a regular glue gun then, I assume? Planning to use Maxibond as mounting adhesive, should work well, right?

Yep, smeltlim requires a smeltlim gun.

Maxibond probably works just as well..
