Put on the protective cap that comes with it. All tube contents age, so there is usually a best-before date.
Then I squeeze out the first and discard it at the next use, possibly you may have to unscrew the nozzle and clean it because it usually hardens or you get extra nozzles.
I count on the fact that the next time I need glue, sealant, etc., it might be unusable.

Wrap plastic wrap from the kitchen around the opening and secure with a rubber band.
Or cut off a finger from a latex glove and secure with a rubber band.
