Best screws for masonite?

My extension from 1990 that I built myself, has 9.6 mm masonite directly on wooden studs, so there's no wood paneling behind it. So the wall doesn't have to be really old just because it's made of masonite.

Agree with the latest post, our house is a MoDo house from '73 and all the walls (typical modern stud walls) are covered with exactly TS type - building board made of Masonite (in Rundvik?). I’ve tried to aim for the stud next to the window for all curtain rods and there's almost always been wood behind. Otherwise, a long screw with a plug that pulls together into a ball behind the board works well.
