I am planning to furnish my basement with a "spa" and living space, storage, and laundry room.
The house is from -36 and the basement is partly above ground. The basement wall is concrete and the inner wall is brick-built with an air gap in between, in some places there are two brick walls.
What is the function of the brick wall? Is it a good idea to remove them when I build a new interior wall?
It is drained with Platon externally, not insulated. I will break up and replace the drains and pour a new floor but not excavate and insulate, skipping underfloor heating due to potential moisture issues.
I plan to solve the floors with moisture barriers, Platon, and a few centimeters of cell plastic to make the floors a bit warmer.
I would appreciate opinions and tips on my construction.
