Hello
I have just removed all organic material from two rooms in a basement of a house built in '37. I will plaster the walls and furnish a laundry room and possibly a bathroom. I will also arrange heating and proper ventilation.
Question: A vapor barrier under the gypsum in the ceiling isn't wise, right? The basement will be a bit cooler than the floor above. So shouldn't any vapor barrier be just under the flooring above? There is an old sawdust bottom. Should I be satisfied with that, and not add extra insulation under the gypsum ceiling?
