Hello!
I want to replace my boring staircase railing/fence over the stairs.

I want a glass fence with types of stainless round posts up around the stairs and then I want it to transition to posts with either tubes or cables down as a staircase railing, with a round handrail.

I've asked most railing sellers I've googled, but ALL of them say they can't offer a solution or that I need to hire someone who can. But I want to do everything myself...

Attached is a picture of how I want the transition from glass to staircase railing. My staircase solution looks exactly like the picture, so I'm looking for something similar.

There is a 90-degree post that transitions from a glass mount to a tube mount. If they aren't available for purchase, how have they done it then? Do you buy plain posts and drill them yourself?

I can cut pipes myself, so I just need pipes and then all the posts, mounts, etc. I don't think it's so advanced that I can't get help from the "pros"??? I will also order the glass myself if it's not available where I buy the parts.

If I'm not mistaken, Bauhaus does have the stair materials you want and you can assemble them yourself :)

can't find a 90-degree post from glass to stair tube there? or do you drill them yourself?

You'll probably have to count on drilling yourself. We made it easy for ourselves and hired a carpenter to help us. He delivered the pre-drilled pipes, and we entertained ourselves by mounting all the fittings on the posts ourselves.

There are probably a few different solutions, but this is how I did it.

There was a ready-made 90-degree bend on the pipes.

Thank you for all the answers, How are the pipes constructed? Do you drill a hole through the first layer and then use a thread tap, or are they too thin to thread so you have to drill through the whole pipe and use a type of nut or similar?

Is this a railing from Bauhaus? Did you have to drill it yourself, and if so, how and with what drill? Or were there ones with mounts for both directions that it sits?

Hi,
Our carpenter brought them and they are not from Bauhaus. The posts are custom ordered for our staircase. They were pre-drilled so we just mounted the fixtures. We were also informed about the unsuitability of not having the wire vertically because children can climb on them. Perhaps something to consider?

Following this thread, also looking for a staircase railing that can be self-assembled.

If you visit the Bauhaus website, search for "Dolle."

The same stuff I have, but it was called something else.

If I remember correctly, the posts have a rail on the inside that holds the nuts, and there were pre-made holes.
