Planning to build a balcony about 2*4 m that will require 4 m high posts. I'm considering using two posts with about 3500 spacing. The question is whether I should use laminated timber posts or if pressure-treated will work just as well? Is there a high risk of them twisting if they're not laminated, or what's the issue? There's barely a 110 difference per meter, so it will be a couple of bucks anyway.

Much more attractive with glulam and just as durable if installed correctly. You avoid cracks and it's easy to paint. It is premium spruce wood since it is normally used for load-bearing structures. Far better wood than the cladding panels typically used on houses.
Just keep in mind that the end grain should not be wet. A spacer against the surface is good, alternatively tar paper. For the top end, it's best to oil it well (with tung oil or raw linseed oil) and then paint thoroughly once a year. Don't forget to bevel the top end.
115x115 usually ends up being just the right thickness. 90x90 looks a bit flimsy once installed. Make a slight chamfer of 4-5mm on the edge so the edges are supported visibly.
