Does anyone have experience or suggestions on how to achieve a good finish between a drywall and concrete/tiled floor without using a skirting board, is caulking enough?

How can the drywall be protected in exposed areas? Do you think a thin sheet metal can be placed that goes up a bit along the wall (which is then plastered over) and still look good?

Grateful for suggestions.

There are corner strips that are spackled in, is that what you're thinking of?

Maybe, I really have no idea. I just have a vague memory from a feature in an interior design magazine a few years ago. I have also seen in other features that they have skipped baseboards, but I suspect that involves brick walls. Considering the children's antics, one should probably at least protect corners and other vulnerable areas. Do the moldings have a special name and what dimensions are available?

No idea what they are actually called, but they are about 2400 long and 4-5cm on each side, perforated. The building trade probably knows. I highly recommend them for outer corners.

Thanks for the tips ;D
