Hello!
We have a somewhat unusual project underway on our farm; we're building a room to live in on one of the gables in the attic.
We have acquired a batch of highly insulating panels from a dismantled cold room, consisting of approximately 7mm spu-like insulation and 1.5mm metal on each side of the panel. They are well suited to fit between the rafters, and the main reason we want to use them is that they are thin and highly insulating, allowing more space in the area and showcasing the old and beautiful rafters.
I have a few questions about potential risks; for example, I'm worried about condensation on the outside of the panel that could run down a long slope of metal and end up in the wall at the roof's end. One solution I have considered is attaching a foam board to the outside of each panel with floor adhesive.
Best regards, Simon
