Why not get an attic hatch with a built-in ladder instead? Like this one: https://www.byggmax.se/vindstrappa-royal-polar-p664000. I have a similar one and you can also have an extra hatch above it in the attic for extra insulation and which opens upwards to avoid debris/dust falling down when you open the lower hatch.

Absolutely. It's just that the existing hole is not adapted for a built-in, so it brings a bit with it. That's why I was attracted to it earlier.
 
We made it easy for ourselves and built an exterior staircase:
Exterior wooden staircase leading to a small landing and a door on the side of a white house, illuminated by sunlight.
What do we have up there?
Just storage and a guest room with space for 3 - 4 overnight guests.
(And if needed, there's room for a conventional attic ladder inside the hallway)
