We're going to start furnishing our upper floor and have requested quotes for a staircase from a few manufacturers. I asked how to attach the staircase to the floor below without damaging the underfloor heating and received a response from one manufacturer that the staircase is not attached to the floor, so it wasn't a problem. Another manufacturer was very careful to emphasize the importance of being cautious with the underfloor heating to avoid damage.

I'm turning to you wise people—how does it actually work?
The thing is that we will also purchase the installation from the manufacturer, but we still want to know how we should think :)

Best regards,
Karin

It is common to fasten the staircase to the floor structure through the top riser. The screw then ends up below the floor level or however one might explain it.

If you have a wall on one side of the stairs, it is usually enough to attach it there.

Wondering how your underfloor heating is installed? Is it cast in the slab or is it on top? If it is cast in the slab, the question is how deep it is when you need to drill.

But it was down there he was wondering how the staircase should be attached :)

If you have to attach it to the floor, you could just glue it. Simple and harmless.
