Attaching a plate to a post, what do I need?

During the summer, I installed a lamppost at a parking area I built. Electricity has been run, and my plan is to also use the pole to mount sockets for connecting car engine heaters.

I know there are some kind of u-shaped brackets that you attach things to poles with. But what are these called and where can I find them? I hope you understand what I'm looking for.
