I'm going to build a ceiling in the basement, but it needs to hang down 95mm, so I was thinking of attaching 45*95 beams and then screwing the ceiling into them.
What is the best way to attach these? One thought was to drill 40mm and then pre-drill the holes to avoid having such long screws. Or is there another method that is better?

Drill halfway through with a larger drill bit works, otherwise angle iron.

Ceilings are usually constructed with steel studs, lightweight and easy to work with. Hat profile against the ceiling (that resolves your problem) 45 stud, another hat profile. 30+30+45 does indeed become 105 mm. But it was at least 20 years ago that I worked with this, so there are certainly other sizes and solutions.
