I'm going to insulate my knee wall and plan to use 220mm insulation, which makes the studs equally deep (set on edge). Fastening them deeply feels difficult, is there a shortcut like using metal angles, or is countersinking the only option? The studs won't support anything at all and will just serve as "frames" for the rock wool, so they don't need to be strong.

Are you going to have just one layer with 220mm? No lying/horizontal layer?

On top of that, I will attach some narrow battens to enclose the insulation.
