Attach light fixture directly to foil-covered ceiling panels
In the joints above, it's probably sparse paneling, with C/C 300 mm, (the boards 1200X600) boards fastened in the notch in them and in the middle. If you press on a board about 15 cm from the joint, it then moves towards the ceiling. You can tap with your hand to get an idea of the hardness. It's not visible, what is it in the lower left corner of the photo?
I felt the boards but it was a bit hard to tell if there is a beam in the middle, but there should be. What's in the bottom corner of the photo is just a partition wall. But if it’s not possible to screw into a beam, will it work to just screw into the ceiling board? Or is it too weak for that?J jonaserik said:In the joints above, it is likely sparse paneling, with C/C 300 mm, (the boards 1200X600) boards attached in the groove in them and in the middle. AHA partition attached directly to the ceiling it seems, there could be a stud between the panels as well. You probably have a lighting fixture in the ceiling. Then you take it down. There might be a ceiling box above or just a pipe out. Then you can see what the panels consist of, maybe feel with a small chisel at the edge of the board. It's immediately noticeable if it's soft or hard. How much weight is it you want to hang up?

Check if the foil-covered ceiling can handle the heat from the lamp; a ceiling light left burn marks in the foil at our place.R Razid said:
It should have a box in the ceiling for the electricity, it might be possible to take from elsewhere too, but it's not good with an extension cord. Is there a box/pipe in the ceiling for electricity or not? Do as I wrote to get a grasp of what the boards consist of.
Yes, there is a box where we currently have a lamp so it's all good (see picture). I will try what you wrote and see if I can see how the boards look.J jonaserik said:
I would go for it. It will definitely hold for one like that. I had to check twice though because at first, I thought the picture was of the new lamp 😂R Razid said:
They look alike!
