Hello!
I live in a house where there are foiled panels as the ceiling. Does anyone know if it's possible to screw up a ceiling lamp directly into the panels?

Soft or hard disks, a photo is good for how it looks.

They are laminated takess panels (hard), I am attaching a photo.

  • Foil-covered ceiling boards with visible seams.
There are studs along the seams of the boards. Screw there.

  • A person using a power tool to attach ceiling panels, aligning them with the joints.

In the joints above, it's probably sparse paneling, with C/C 300 mm, (the boards 1200X600) boards fastened in the notch in them and in the middle. If you press on a board about 15 cm from the joint, it then moves towards the ceiling. You can tap with your hand to get an idea of the hardness. It's not visible, what is it in the lower left corner of the photo?

I felt the boards but it was a bit hard to tell if there is a beam in the middle, but there should be. What's in the bottom corner of the photo is just a partition wall. But if it’s not possible to screw into a beam, will it work to just screw into the ceiling board? Or is it too weak for that?

A ceiling lamp yes, otherwise I wouldn't

AHA partition attached directly to the ceiling it seems, there could be a stud between the panels as well. You probably have a lighting fixture in the ceiling. Then you take it down. There might be a ceiling box above or just a pipe out. Then you can see what the panels consist of, maybe feel with a small chisel at the edge of the board. It's immediately noticeable if it's soft or hard. How much weight is it you want to hang up?

This is the kind I want to hang up.

  • Pendant lamp with five hanging light bulbs over a dining table, black cords, and a modern, minimalist design.
  • A ceiling light fixture with multiple bulb sockets, black metal frame, and textured concrete-look fittings, coiled black cables attached.
  • Instructions manual for hanging a light fixture, showing installation steps with diagrams and multilingual table of electrical terms.

Check if the foil-covered ceiling can handle the heat from the lamp; a ceiling light left burn marks in the foil at our place.

It should have a box in the ceiling for the electricity, it might be possible to take from elsewhere too, but it's not good with an extension cord. Is there a box/pipe in the ceiling for electricity or not? Do as I wrote to get a grasp of what the boards consist of.

A plafond got too hot against the foil, it caused burn marks so we had to replace a panel, the ceiling was new.

Yes, there is a box where we currently have a lamp so it's all good (see picture). I will try what you wrote and see if I can see how the boards look.

  • Ceiling with mounted light fixture and electrical box above a modern kitchen setup.

Hardly likely to be a problem with today's LED lights🥴

Yes there is a socket where we have a lamp today so it's fine (see picture). I will try what you wrote and see if I can see how the discs look.
I would go for it. It will definitely hold for one like that. I had to check twice though because at first, I thought the picture was of the new lamp 😂
They look alike!
