Depends on the situation. If you need to remove it due to space or another reason, you can just take it out. Otherwise, you can just encase it. The asbestos is bound in the tiles, so there's no risk of you or your family getting lung cancer because of them. If you need to remove them, just pack them in bags and take them to the dump. Or bury them somewhere. That's how they do it at the dump too.
Okay, thanks for the response. I assume it's mainly if you're in an enclosed space that you would need something like a spacesuit to dismantle them? Outside there's not as much risk? Face masks and eye protection obviously even outside, but maybe it's mostly with prolonged exposure that it's dangerous?
It's not the duration of exposure that's dangerous, but the number of inhaled asbestos fibers, and it's different in various asbestos-cement sheets. I don't know exactly what personal protection is required, but I guess a mask covering both the nose and mouth with a P3 filter. I know that professionals must notify the Swedish Work Environment Authority and set up barriers to prevent third-party harm, and that the workers undergo regular health checks. But the requirements are not the same for a private person, though I don't know what must be done. But check how the recycling station handles it. I believe they require it to be wrapped in plastic and taped together.
